Provisional schedule of organizing:
- Since the beginning of 2006: intensive organizational preparations
- End of 2006/beginning 2007: hotel classifications, fixing the ticket and package prices, detailed decisions on the play (beginning/end of plays etc.) and on the organization
- Mid- 2007: setting up the Office
- Beginning of 2008: start of sales of package
- Beginning of 2009: start of sales tickets without package
- Beginning of 2009: choosing the leading actors
- Ash Wednesday 2009: the “Hair Decree”- from this date on all the men in Oberammergau taking part in the play are requested to let the hair on their heads and faces grow
In contrast to former Passion Plays the Passion Play 2010 will be performed into the evening:
Part 1 from 2:00/2:30 p.m. to 4:30/ 5:00 p.m.
intermission - dinner
Part 2 from 7:30/8:00 to 10:00/10:30 p.m.
Provisional weekly schedule – 5 plays (May-September: about 100 plays):
Similar to all Passion Plays of the last decades, we expect an over demand on arrangements as wel as on tickets without arrangements. In this case we will have to distribute the tickets in accordance with the criteria of the Bavarian Cartel Office again. We would like to point out that one criterion for the distribution or rather the sales of the contingents will be the fact how often you have visited Oberammergau in the period between the Passion Plays.
